Abbi Sorrells has been a McLean County resident for the last 4 years. She loves McLean County and the people who call it home.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria, and is currently completing her master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Family Practice. Her nursing background is primarily in emergency nursing and critical care.
Abbi has worked as a flight nurse serving rural communities, giving access to vital services such as stroke centers, trauma centers and cardiac services. As an ER nurse, she’s spent the majority of her time working with life-threatening cases at Critical Access and Level 1 Trauma Centers throughout Illinois. Throughout her career, Abbi has established outstanding working relationships with local EMS agencies and Law Enforcement.
Abbi is a veteran with the Illinois Army National Guard. She is an active volunteer with the Heyworth Storm youth basketball team, and volunteers as an instructor with Boy Scouts of America at their Boy Scout Camp.
